SACRAL CHAKRA

What were my goals and intentions?
- I was trying to encompass the peace I hold even in
 the darkness.

How did I accomplish my goals?

- I used a mix of colors to represent my calm intentions.
What was my painting about?
- My painting is about self-medicating meditation.
I used different colors to show a psychedelic presence.
The black shows that even darkness can't move my
inner peace.

What was my biggest challenge?
- My biggest challenge was keeping the face
in register.
How did I meet that challenge?
- I turned my mishaps into unique art.
Where does my painting really work?
- Each print is different then the next. The difference
in each piece of work is what makes it work.
What are some things I have learned?
- I have learned that mistakes are never mistakes,
only I challenge to overcome.

If I had a do-over what would I do?
- If I could change my prints I would change
the hair so it looks different from the shirt.
What do you feel best about your work?
-
I how different every print is, they each bring
a different story that can relate to everyone.
What mentor can I name that helped me?
- Mr. Gaudraeu helped my in this piece. He
showed me how to change my mistakes into
something beautiful.
What student in the class helped you?
- Hans helped me cut my mat.

ARTIST STATEMENT
I wanted to incorporate dark shadows and a slight version of abstract art. I accomplished that by just looking at the shape of the shadow instead of the whole picture itself. My painting is about Interesting markings and dramatic shadows. The most difficult challenge in this painting were the fingers. With the help of my teacher I figured out the size view placement of the fingers. My painting really works with the lips and the different values of the lips. I have learned the ways of size view placement. My mentor is Edvard Munch. Much uses his feeling to bring out the dramatic ways of his paintings. I liked Barwick's because she used a lot of value. I am happy about the contrast in my painting.

Pumpkins

In this piece my goal was to bring out the lightness throughout the dark shadows. I wanted to show deep contrast with the light and the dark. I used the back light to bring out the shadows. The most difficult challenge was making the pumpkins look three dimensional. I met the challenge by blocking out the light and dark and then adding deeper images. I can squint my eyes and just look at the color. I used Edvard Munch because he uses his feeling into his paintings. I liked Hans picture because he really brought out the skull in his picture. If I had a do-over, I would pick a different angle to paint. My greatest feeling about my painting is the way the shadow drapes over the pumpkin.

OBSESSIONS

A little girl at a camp I went to was so obsessed
with me, she came into camp with this shirt on.

Music is my main obsession, it has gotten
 me through many hard times.

I'm a fruitaholic and pomegranates are my weakness.
